The Big Bad Wolf

What comes to me is the story of the Big Bad Wolf. I feel that I have been like the little piggy, building houses out of unsteady materials, houses not meant to endure, practice houses. Houses like that are destined to fall apart, and that is what happened to me recently.

The wolf came, huffing and puffing, destroying my lovely house, my ethereal castle of auric fields, my dwelling, and something I believed was good and stable. It was not. Nothing that can be so easily startled is a stable house.

In this way, my own letting go was part of the destruction. I no longer have any need for structures, harborings, or dwellings in any dimension that are not meant for the long run.

I can test and try, build things for the sake of experience, but there always comes a time, usually at the closing of a cycle and the beginning of a new one, when I must choose what stays and what goes. And for now, what goes is instability.

All of this stems from a realization my time in the jungle has brought me. A deep longing for staying, dwelling, stability, real rooting. When a desire like this begins to germinate, one awakens to the responsibility of ensuring that the living environment for this new shoot is life-promoting. There cannot be rotten structures leaking the smell of decay and chaos into a clear, new wish for life.

It has become clear that a new seed is sprouting. There has been shaking that revealed structures incapable of supporting this growth. There has been a wind of change in the form of the huffing wolf, exposing fertile, untouched ground for this dream to grow unhindered, the way it is meant to be, free, vast, abundant.

Throughout all of this, what has grown stronger is stillness and calm. Even when the ways life guides us home do not make sense, I can still trust that there is a reason, and that this is serving something essential.

Part of me still carries root trauma, guilt. Behind everything lingers the question, what have I done wrong to deserve these attacks, challenges, this struggle? And yet, alongside that, a new curiosity arises. Maybe I am blessed to be given repeated opportunities for renewal, to learn the deep wisdom of cultivating life, to create conditions where dream seedlings can thrive, perfect astral greenhouses for visions of regeneration.

In the end, I feel that I am learning how to build houses. How to secure soil for dream seeds. How to keep myself safe in a world where wolves still roam.

And with these new gifts, here I stand, naked, shedding the last skin and revealing the tender bare surface of my being, the soil of my soul and the landscape of my dream. I’m ready to receive and I’m ready to build once again. Will the next house be for keeping? Only time will tell..

Ah, happy to back in the ”civilization”, hugged by these great mountains, infusing the sacred deep to my bones.
