Taking It Slow
My body is not asking for more insight.
It is asking for less speed. Slow down! Stop! Listen! Demand is loud.
Slowing down is not aesthetic. It is not moving gently while still rushing internally. It’s about addressing urgency. My mind is not in hurry, it’s within the body and nervoussystem.
And that feels confronting.
When I slow down enough, irritation appears.
Impatience.
A voice that says, “This is unnecessary. We should be further by now.”
That voice is not wrong. It is protective. It learned that speed equals safety. The illusion and damnation of productivity.
But the body is saying something else now.
Especially in an eclipse window, where everything accelerates externally, the real power is in deceleration. When the sky intensifies, the body needs gravity.
The erotic is not fast. Sensual energy does not live in urgency. It lives in presence thick enough to feel texture. In my breath, spine and the silent still moments of truth.
Slowness moves energy downward.
Out of the head.
Into the hips.
To the soles of the feet.
When I slow down truly, I notice where I abandon myself. Where I override signals. Where I try to get somewhere instead of inhabit where I am.
Yesterday I hit my toe, ripping a whole nail almost completely off. My injured toe is not mystical symbolism. It is simple.
I moved too fast. My body is screaming, Stop!
There is intelligence in restraint, strength in pacing and authority in choosing not to rush.
To take it slow right now is not passivity.
It is discipline, my spine is being activated once again, my masculine to step forward and create containment of energy so it can mature instead of scatter.
Slowness is not about doing less.
It is about doing only what is aligned. Listening to my heart space, sinking into silence.
And staying with it long enough that it roots.
That is the work.
